Wheel Theme Weeks
« on: June 24, 2004, 08:23:40 PM »
I think Wheel should have new theme weeks in play for next season.

Here are some suggestions:

POLICE & FIREFIGHTERS WEEK

Contestants would be from either LAPD, FDNY, NYPD, or LAFD.

Bonus prizes like Fire-engine red Corvette, Fire-engine red Suburban.

RETRO WEEK

Shopping redux for contestants.  One wedge on the wheel would have shopping, and the player who solves the puzzle and has that wedge would go shopping for a fabulous living room group, or an outdoor spa/patio, or a trip to Australia, Fiji, or Europe.

Then in the bonus round, the contestant would spin a bonus round wheel where the prizes are $25,000, $50,000,  a new T-Bird, or a (VIP, Wealth-Maker, Rainy-Day, or Jumbo) Annuity worth $100,000!!!!

Then they would be given a puzzle without RSTLN E, but 15 seconds to solve it.

DISCOVER THE AMERICAS WEEK

The prizes would be trips to various places in North and South America.

The bonus prizes would be trip/car combos, just like in 1994 when they first did this theme week.

AROUND THE WORLD WEEK

The prizes would be trips to various places around the world.

The bonus prizes would be a trip Around The World, a Land Rover, and a Fiji Getaway with a chestful of diamond and pearl necklaces!!!

They've done this before for New Year's week at least once or twice, IIRC.  It was pretty cool.

What does it matter? You'll just look to the board for a recap beforehand anyhow.

 Why? Are there not worthy
firemen and policemen in cities outside of LA and NY?

IMO, Retro Week should just be a week to see Pat & Vanna's favorite episodes from 1983-1997 (before the puzzleboard change)......but that's only in my dreams I guess.

Most of the Chuck & Susan eps of Wheel don't exist anymore.

If there was an outlet to show the Pat & Vanna episodes from '83-'97, it would be GSN.  Right now, there is no chance any Wheel episodes from the 1984-87, 1990-92, 1993-95 seasons, and 1997-2001 seasons will ever be shown in the future.

GSN keeps repeating Wheel's 1988-89 season over and over!!!

GSN did show a lot of episodes outside of the '88-'89 eps. in the past and now since we're at the end of the season, since Sony is still with GSN, they can still show different seasons of Wheel so if I do call GSN on Monday and if they say "It's time to show a different season of Wheel" then I'll let them successfully search for another season of Wheel of Fortune and do show a different season, they showed the same season once before but they won't do it again so there's always a chance where they can show a different season of Wheel.

You'll forgive me if I fail to see how this makes any sense.

As far as a know, the shows no longer existing are from 1975-78, save for about 10 episodes.  The 1978-81 shows should be around somewhere, since NBC stopped recycling videotape in 1978.

Hope this helps! :-)

I'm all for a NO-THEME Week!..No, wait, a NO-THEME Month!...Aw, hell, Lets just make it a NO-THEME Season!!!

Let's put the emphasis back on the actual gameplay, and not all the little decorations and "Whoop-De-Freakin'-Do"  video wall backdrops.

The set pieces for the 'PARTY TIME!' episodes this week were uniformed and generic.  Hope they use those set pieces for next season.
